ngage is a community development and engagement project of Thurrock CVS which shapes and promotes opportunities for active citizenship and social participation in Thurrock.

ngage support and deliver a number of projects that have positive impact on health and wellbeing, unemployment, social exclusion, disability and loneliness,  all of which can lead to some people becoming the most deprived in today’s society. We work alongside communities to help build pride, responsibility and respect, and encourage people to participate more fully in society.

Our Volunteer Centre supports people in finding volunteering opportunities within local organisations and charities, and we work with local schools, colleges and young people to support and encourage them into volunteering.

We are able to support local businesses with Employee Supported Volunteering activities and hold a number of ‘make a difference days’ to encourage opportunities for local businesses to get involved.

Time Bank Thurrock has been successful in attracting people who would not normally get involved in traditional volunteering. It provides opportunities for people to help other people within the local community and feel useful in society. It helps people to improve their skills, self-confidence and social networks and make a contribution to the wellbeing of others.

ngage is an active partner to the Community Hubs programme and assists Community Hubs with the recruitment and training of volunteers, and the development and delivery of the core training programme
