Mike Kelly has been involved with the local voluntary sector in Thurrock for over 22 years serving on a number of committees and boards in the area.

He is currently employed as Chief Executive of  Thurrock Open Door which he has led and developed since 1995. Open Door is a registered charity that   helps and supports  over 4,000 people each year, providing  a range of services for young people, adults and families in Thurrock. He has been responsible for developing and delivering a number of very successful projects both in Essex and Thurrock. 

Mike was previously employed in the business sector during which time he also worked part time for Hertfordshire Youth Service , running two busy youth centres. In addition to this  was  employed for 4 years as  a part-time lecturer at the University of Greenwich.

He has been a Trustee of Thurrock CVS since 1998 and is  currently a Trustee of WBH Homestart.
