The Community Involvement Board (CIB) brings together the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors to ensure that local people are able to influence the decisions that affect them.

Through working with different geographic communities and communities of interest, the organisations that make up the CIB are well placed to act as a channel for communication with those they interact with, who can often include those most at risk of exclusion.

The CIB is one of five partnership boards on the Local Strategic Partnership, and it works to encourage participation by the public in influencing services alongside democratic participation. The CIB has developed a set ‘Principles of Community Engagement’ with key agencies to ensure that when public agencies consult, that they do so in a way that engages a wide range of people and encourages them to have confidence in consultation to have their say.
