Thurrock Mind are offering training for you to become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.

With 1 in 4 people in the UK estimated to experience a mental health issue each year, this training enables you to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and ways of offering support. There is also a youth course, designed specifically for those that teach, work, live with or care for young people aged 8 – 18 years old.

Courses are carried out over two days and broad topics covered within the training are:

  • What is mental health?
  • Depression & Anxiety
  • Self-Harm & Suicide
  • How to offer mental health first aid

Feedback from a previous course was:

‘An excellent course to attend, I would definitely recommend as it is a valuable tool to have regardless of your profession.’

- Counsellor

‘The course was 100% value for money. I now feel like I could spot the signs of a mental health issue earlier in a young person and would be much more effective in being able to support that young person.’

- Secondary School Teacher
